In 2005 I had the germ of an idea that became ‘Smoke Gets In Your Eyes’, the first Inspector Vignoles Mystery. It was an immediate hit with the reading public and within weeks of publication was adapted into a stage musical by Chenderit School, Middleton Cheney with some remarkable 1940’s style music composed for the adaptation.
Eleven more books have followed to date, taking the railway detective and his team up and down the now long closed Great Central Railway (and others) as the years roll by.
In recent months I have been approached by three notable Slovene musicians to co-write songs as an English language lyricist. One song is currently in demo form and others in development. An interesting and exciting new avenue for my writing skills.

I also paint landscapes in oil and watercolour, enjoy bird watching, love gardening and walking and railway modelling (a layout themed around Inspector Vignoles is under construction...) I enjoy a real ale and glass (or two) of red wine.
